My mission is to guide and mentor sunless professionals who are ready to take their businesses to the next level — defining and growing your brand, constantly acquiring new clients, hiring and training a staff, learning to lead, working your way out of daily operations (if you desire) and ultimately leaving your mark on your community and our industry in a way that feels good to you.

Why Sunless Legacy for Me?

I’ve been in the sunless industry since 2011 and I’ve done and seen it all.

I’ve grown my sunless business, Recreating Rays, from a side gig in my basement to two brick and mortar locations and over 25 staff members. 

I founded the Association of Sunless Tanning Professionals (ASTP) and Sunless Summit in 2016 - the first professional organization and conference to exist solely for the sunless industry.

I built ASTP and Sunless Summit into an asset…and sold them in 2020.

I’ve trained and mentored countless new and established sunless professionals over the last decade-plus, helping them build strong and sustainable businesses that pay their bills and leave their mark.

After years in the sunless industry, I saw a huge gap in the coaching and mentoring space and an opportunity to change the way artists approach their businesses. 

Too many talented artists are struggling to scale their businesses, overwhelmed by the challenges of growth and leadership with no idea what their next best step might be.

I founded Sunless Legacy to fill that gap, providing high-level mentoring, industry-specific business strategies, and a supportive community for those who are serious about creating a lasting impact. 

I know that every business journey and lifestyle is unique, and I’m here to guide you with a no-nonsense approach that’s rooted in real-world success.

Hi, I’m Shonna Dexter, the founder of Sunless Legacy.

I’ve spent 14 years in the sunless tanning industry, perfecting my craft, building a thriving business, and mentoring other professionals. 

As someone who has been where you are, I understand the challenges of building a successful business in this space. That’s why I’m passionate about helping you avoid the common mistakes and mindsets that can hold you back.

My mission is to equip you with the tools, resources, and the way of thinking you need to scale your sunless business and build a legacy that lasts. With Sunless Legacy, you’re not just getting business mentoring…you’re getting a guide, business “therapist” and professional hype girl who can’t wait to see you succeed!
